12. A confirmation screen summarizes the installation options that you have selected. To
begin the installation, click Install. You can click Back to return to previous screens and
change the values that you selected, or click Cancel to abort the installation process
without changing anything on your system. If you select Forward, the Ubuntu installer
begins the installation process. When the process is complete, the installer ejects the CD,
reminds you to remove it from your system??™s CD drive, and asks you to press Enter to
reboot your system.
13. When installation is complete, the Desktop CD installer displays an Installation Complete
dialog box that confirms a successful installation. When you see this dialog box, you can
either click Continue Using the live CD to continue experimenting with Ubuntu from the
CD, or click Restart Now to reboot your system and begin running Ubuntu directly from
your system??™s hard drive(s).
When you boot your system, Ubuntu displays a splash screen and progress dialog box as
it boots, followed by a graphical login screen. Congratulations??”you??™re running Ubuntu
Linux!
Ubuntu systems automatically run a graphical application called the Update Manager to notify
you when system updates are available and to simplify retrieving and installing those updates.
