8. Select the portage tree. Click Forward to use the portage tree from the live CD. Otherwise,
you need to choose the location of the Portage tree you want. You will see the make.conf
screen.
9. Change make.conf settings. If you like, you can change the USE flags, CFLAGS, and
other settings to use for your installation. Select Forward to see the kernel screen.
10. Select a kernel. Select livecd-kernel to use it as the kernel for the installed Gentoo system.
To go to the bootloader screen, click Forward.
11. Make your bootloader selection. Select Grub as your bootloader. In most cases, you will
want to install it in the master boot record (MBR) on the hard disk you want to boot
from. (For multi-boot situations, you may want to install the boot loader to a different
partition and update your master boot record later to point to all of your bootable partitions.)
Click Forward to see the time zone screen.
12. Select your time zone. Choose your time zone from the map or list shown on the
screen. Then click Forward to go to the Networking screen.
13. Configure networking. Choose your network interface (usually eth0) from the Interface
box. Then either select DHCP or select Static (and add your IP address and other information
by hand) and a hostname.
