If you aren??™t sure, check with your support desk. If it does not apply, just leave it
empty. APT retrieves a list of packages from the site that you selected.
12. The installer attempts to retrieve a list of security updates from the Debian security archive.
This step will fail if you do not have an Internet connection, but you can still finish the
rest of the installation.
13. You are asked to participate in a package usage survey. The survey is optional.
14. You are presented with a list of predefined software collections that you can select for
installation. Use the arrow keys and space bar to choose to install any of these collections
now. (Any software you don??™t install now you can add after installation is complete using
task selection, as described later in this chapter.) Press Enter to continue.
15. APT downloads and installs the packages you have selected.
16. The final step is to install GRUB, the boot loader. The default setting is to install to the
master boot record (MBR), which is generally the best option. If the installer finds other
bootable partitions, it will tell you what it has found and, if you agree, it will add them
to the boot loader. Select Yes and press Enter to continue.
Installation of the Debian GNU/Linux system is now complete.
