digital realm. We rarely think about the fact that the Web is indeed a cavernous, expanding

Search is the only tool we have to put the incomprehensible amount of data into any semblance
of order. Search engines specialize in crawling, indexing, ranking, and displaying
web content. While this might sound simple enough, the fact that Google, Yahoo, and
MSN have all made billions of dollars in just the search industry should be some indication
that the world relies heavily on their technology. In fact, the Internet has three characteristics
