In other words, browsers and other devices are already very
good at moving through a website. The Back and Forward buttons easily skip through linear
sets of pages, the built-in history feature recalls previously visited pages, and the location
field itself enables people to teleport to any location in the domain so long as they
know the URL.
Navigation placement
Since the invention of hyperlinks, web designers have argued over the design advantages
and pitfalls of different navigation placement. Some favor navigation along the top of the
page, some favor navigation within sidebars, and still others place redundant links in
the footer. There are many places on your page to create groups of links, as shown in
Figure 4-4.
