Navigation aids
Navigation aids are additional, global links that appear in the metadata section of a web
page using the tag. Their purpose is to offer top-level navigation before a user digs
too deep into a page??™s content.
Some common links include Home, Contents, Next, Forward, Help, Last, Copyright, Search,
and Author. While there are no written rules, including Home, Contents, Search, and Author
should be a standard minimum since they are applicable to the entire site and provide
users immediate access to important pages. These should appear on every single page for
consistency. (Note that all title and href attributes are examples; use whatever works
best for your site.)
