becomes immediately inaccessible unless it contains closed captions. As web designers
begin taking advantage of increasing bandwidth to deliver high-impact interactive presentations,
accommodating the hearing impaired will become an important topic of discussion.
Hearing impairment is also a major concern when coupled with blindness, because then

Learning disabilities
???Learning disabled??? is a somewhat harder category to narrow, because it encompasses a
range of developmental and learning disabilities that can affect almost any aspect of a person??™s
ability to process information. Dyslexia is a particular concern in web design. The
condition can deeply affect a person??™s ability to read and understand text, and is affected
by a disconcerting range of factors, from background colors and typefaces all the way to
word choice.
Epilepsy
Epilepsy is not a learning disorder or mobility impairment, but a chronic neurological condition.
It must be mentioned, however, because certain designs (particularly rapidly flashing
advertisements) can trigger epileptic seizures.
