392 Manage Software Testing
A.8.9 Phase: Load Testing
This phase is designed to:
1. Determine typical BizRool configurations in terms of hardware, applications and throughput.
2. Identify the relative ???weight??™ of different BizRools.
3. Determine the importance of screen/form type and size.
During this phase, a mix of transactions and user BizRools will be used.
Load can be increased by either:
??? Having virtual users perform transactions more quickly
or
??? Increasing the number of virtual users
The load testing phase will attempt to answer the following questions:
. . .
??? What is the effect of adding a BizRool webserver on a separate box?
??“ Method: Using the configuration described in Test environments below, add a separate web server,
and run the three applications against it. Measure the average times required to display all screen/
forms and execute all useful paths. Add a second engine on a separate server. Repeat the process.
??“ Results: % change in the response time and throughput as a result of adding a BizRool webserver
on a separate box to a two-server configuration.
