Manage Software Testing
???
Define the UTCs??™ test experience
as a process. This may be a simple memo or a more complex
model. You need to know what the UTCs will experience from the moment they walk into the
building to the moment they leave. Otherwise UTCs may be:
??“ Insufficiently prepared
??“ Unamenable to return for follow-up (is it too long?)
??“ The experience may be too unrealistic to be useful)
???
Write
UTC and observer
task instructions,
and validate them with the users, training staff, and
the usability guru. If necessary write a UTC screening questionnaire to exclude participants who
are too knowledgeable, clever, or the reverse.
???
Review the user manuals and training
expected to be ready for the start of the tests.
