"Manage Software Testing"

???
Technically-competent
rather than geeky: technology is simply something which helps them do
a job. They are neither in awe of it nor do they see it as some extension of any personal attribute.
???
Precise
to the point of tedium: people??™s lives may depend on the number of zeroes to the right
of the decimal point.
??? Able to
see the implications
of unconnected trivia:
the fact that

was sometimes followed by text vanishing may not occur to the average
person.
??? Able to
multi-task
: while sometimes they can concentrate on testing a single feature, there will
be times in which issues arise concerning several.
???
Methodical
: their sense of order may be more real than apparent, but it??™s there. They tend to keep
notes obsessively, not always in the same place.
??? Able to
manage their time
: a good tester knows when to give up and look for some other bug.
???
Creative
: they will think of new ways of testing and new questions to ask.
Testers tend to gross egalitarianism probably because a bug is a bug whoever finds it. Introducing all but
the subtlest hierarchies is thus counter-productive. However here is a way of grading them. (Note that
simply because someone
can
lead a team it doesn??™t mean they
must
in order to be considered or paid as
a
senior

??? Basic:
??“ Understands the software life-cycle.
??“ Executes/maintains
test cases
