8.13 Test Summary
This document summarizes and evaluates the results of the testing activities.
Specify the names and the titles of all persons who should approve this report. Provide space for the
signatures and dates. Address the following:
??? Summary of the item(s). Identify the item(s) tested, indicating their version/revision level. Indicate
the environment in which the testing activities took place.
??? For each test item, refer to the following documents if they exist or tools: test plan, test-design
specifications, test-procedure specification, test-item transmittal reports, test logs, and bug
reports.
??? Variances. Report any variances of the item(s) from their design specifications. Indicate any
variances from the test plan, test designs, or test procedures. Specify the reason for each variance.
??? Comprehensiveness assessment. Evaluate the comprehensiveness of the testing process against
the comprehensiveness criteria specified in the test plan (see section 8.5). Identify features or
feature combinations which were not sufficiently tested and explain why.
??? Summary of results including all resolved incidents and their resolutions.
