8.8.6 Output Specification
Specify all the outputs and features (for example, response time) required of the test items. Provide the
exact value (with tolerances) for each required output or feature. Specify the mode or state the system
should be in after the test.
8.8.7 Pass/Fail Criteria
Identify acceptable or unacceptable ranges of data or the output of some test tool ??” typically the results
of a comparison between a test-expected-result file, and a test-actual-result file, and is best expressed in
terms of some humanly-observable event.
8.8.8 Software
Specify the system and application software required to execute this test case. This may include system
software such as operating systems, compilers, simulators, and test tools. Allow for the fact that the test
item may interact with application software.
8.8.9 Other Environmental Needs
Specify any hardware and other environmental needs not covered in higher level test documents, such as:
??? Special test rigs
??? Specially trained personnel
??? Client??“server set-up
??? Data feeds
8.8.10 Special Procedural Requirements
Describe:
??? Any special constraints on the test procedures which execute this test case. These constraints may
involve special set-up, operator intervention, output determination procedures, and special wrapup
procedures.
??? What the expected bugs may look like and leave as many helpful notes as possible for the operator.
