It is a globally
unique identifier provided in the icid-value= parameter.
Normally this header would only be provided within a trusted domain. That is, this
would only be shared within the home network, and not with other, external networks.
However, there are provisions that would allow this information to be passed to another
network through the I-CSCF provided local policy permits. Typically the two operators
would have to have a trusted relationship (and an intercarrier billing arrangement)
before this would be allowed.

P-Preferred-Identity This header can be provided by a device to indicate the identity
that is preferred for the specified subscription, based on the user??™s interaction with a
Presence server or other application. For example, a subscriber may wish that all business
calls be routed to this address rather than the URI provided in the request-URI.
P-PREFERRED-IDENTITY: russell@tekelec.com
P-Visited-Network-ID The P-VISITED-NETWORK-ID allows networks outside of a
subscriber??™s home network to identify themselves to a home network when transiting
requests and responses for a roaming user. This function is somewhat supported today
in the SS7 ISUP protocol using the Transit Carried ID, although its implementation
has been sparse at best.
