His experience as a field engineer and later as instructor and consultant covers multiple
disciplines including switching, signaling, and data networking. He currently has numerous
patents pending for solutions and technologies that encompass signaling as well
as OSS/BSS. He is the author of Telecommunications Protocols, The Telecommunications
Pocket Reference, and Signaling System #7 (currently in its 5th Edition) and co-author
of Cellular Digital Packet Data (CDPD).
Mr. Russell is a frequent speaker at colleges and universities, as well as industry conferences
and trade shows around the world. He is currently a senior manager with Tekelec,
the leading developer of switching and signaling telecommunications solutions.
