Find Out Your Network??™s Gateway and DNS Settings
If you don??™t have your network??™s gateway and DNS settings written down, but
you have another functional PC running Windows Vista, you can find them
out easily:
Click the Start button, right-click the Network item, and choose
Properties to open a Network And Sharing Center window.
Click the View Status link
for the network connection
to display the connection??™s
Status dialog box.
Click the Details button to
display the Network Connection
Details dialog box, which
contains readouts of the IP
address, subnet mask, default
gateway, and DNS servers.
Click the Close button to
close each dialog box, and
then click the Close button to
close the Network And Sharing
Center window.

Verify That Your PC??™s Internet Connection Is Working
To verify that your PC??™s Internet connection is working, access a web site:
Click the Konqueror button on the quick-launch bar to launch Konqueror.
Click in the address bar to place the focus there.
